Oh Father, you’re a Star now: English poem by Rafia Kamran
Oh Father, you’re a star now
There once was a time,
When King to my crown was by my side.
Years later, sky engulfed him.
Now I wave at dark deep black sky,
Not missing him seems a crime,
I would never be guilty of forgetting him.
In my dreams I hear harmonious chime,
Sleep; my bolt for freedom
I visit gardens with him sometimes.
My beloved father, you left me too soon,
Now your toddler is a grown up with harsh times.
This poem is written by Rafia Kamran. The poem is dedicated to a father by her daughter, even when there is a distance of miles and miles between them, she never forgets her father for a second as if forgetting him is a crime.
