Jade Dreams: Poem by Hibah Shabkhez
Jade Dreams: Poem by Hibah Shabkhez
The pleasant hours spent in slumber
In the story-dreams where we walked
With dragons, blazing glory, thunder
At us still; we cannot answer.
Jolted awake from the sweet embrace
Of tomorrow, our dreams must learn
The concrete taste of failure; face
The many flavours of bitterness
Come, new fear. Aa jao shabash. In
Daydreams and cauchemares, ven.
First you shall have
Your reign of terror; then
I shall behead you
With your own guillotine.
