I locked by mind: Poem by Qurat Ul Ain

 

I locked my mind,

So that I don’t have to think

I locked my heart,

So that I don’t have to let anyone in..!

I locked my tongue,

So that I don’t have to speak

I blocked my ears,

So that I don’t have to hear

I closed my eyes,

So that I don’t have to see

I closed my eyes , locked my heart, blocked my ears,

And lost the key to never find it again

But Ahh! My soul…

It neither gets blocked nor gets locked

It burns inside the cage of my body,

It yearns to fly towards You!

I fail to cease it,

And set it free!

Ahh! I lost the key,

But forgot, the key is You!

Then I found You,

And lost the lock!

O’ my beloved

How can I lose You!

How can I forget You!
